Today’s ride had several steep and challenging climbs compounded by über strong winds (sustained 25 mph with lots and lots of 45 mph gusts)! I must admit a couple of times I questioned whether I could do it and had to fight hard not to be blown over by some of the wind gusts. Seriously. Even Giocomo, the guide that rode with us today, said it was the hardest climbing and wind conditions he had ever experienced – that it was a challenge for him too.
It also occasionally rained.
We all felt a sense of extreme accomplishment.
The ride was absolutely, stunningly breathtaking. Along the coast with massive crashing waves. Climbing through mist filled forests. Waterfalls. Vibrant rice fields. Country lanes through small villages.
Butterfield and Robinson’s promise of today’s ride delivered (“Day two promises to be one of the greatest riding days of any B&R trip.”)!
